StoneFly adds their high-availability USO-HA cluster appliances to VMware’s exclusive ESXi hardware compatibility list
Hayward, Calif. – November 13, 2013 — StoneFly, Inc., a leading supplier of integrated IP storage area network (SAN) systems and a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynamic Network Factory, Inc. (DNF), today announced completion of VMware Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) certification for its USO-HA series of “Unified Scale Out” high-availability cluster IP SAN + NAS appliances for the latest versions of VMware vSphere ESXi 5.1 and ESXi 5.1 U1. StoneFly’s ISC (Integrated Storage Concentrator) and USO (Unified Scale Out) series of storage appliances were previously certified with VMware over the summer.
VMware vSphere is the industry’s first cloud operating system, transforming datacenters into dramatically simplified cloud infrastructures to enable the next generation of flexible, reliable IT services. ESXi is the exclusive hypervisor for VMware vSphere and gives customers uncompromising control, with greater efficiency, while preserving customer choice.
By continuing to support VMware vSphere, StoneFly can further extend the value of its IP SAN and NAS Scale Out appliances into customers’ next-generation datacenters and help enable customers to manage large collections of infrastructure — including CPUs, storage and networking — as a seamless, flexible and dynamic cloud environment.
The StoneFly USO-HA, ISC and USO IP SAN appliances are officially VMware Ready™ Certified, meaning they have completed the VMware Hardware Certification Program’s iSCSI storage array testing criteria for use with VMware vSphere and ESXi Server 5.1, and are now listed in the VMware Hardware Compatibility Guide. The VMware Hardware Certification Program enables VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program members to provide mutual customers with jointly supported hardware solutions. Passing the extensive certification testing helps ensure that StoneFly IP SANs are compatible with VMware technology and ready for deployment in customer environments.
According to Mo Tahmasebi, president and CEO of StoneFly, certification with VMware vSphere demonstrates StoneFly’s commitment to helping customers reduce costs and improve storage and server consolidation efforts. “We’re very pleased to maintain our VMware certification with our state of the art IP SAN appliances,” he said. “As organizations continue to consolidate their data storage and take advantage of on-demand and cloud infrastructures, they’ll find that our iSCSI and NAS storage platforms are ideal to support a range of critical applications, from primary storage to business continuity to archiving.”
The VMware Ready program is a VMware co-branding program for qualified partner products and is a benefit of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program. The VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
