StoneFly has taken upon itself to provide hyper-converged backup and disaster recovery appliances as physical or virtual solutions via on-premise, remote, private or public cloud installations.
Need for StoneFly Veeam specializes in providing backup and replication solutions on-premise and the public cloud. Customers are now able to connect their on-premise Veeam backup and replication archives to Microsoft Azure Cloud using Veeam Cloud Connect. However, there are storage limitations with Veeam VM in Microsoft Azure. It supports a 16 TB volume to be created by configuring the Linux and Windows operating systems. But even these volumes cannot store backup files larger than 1 TB in size because of the Azure file size limitation at the backend.

So, it has hence become a necessity for customers to implement an additional storage solution that can scale out. StoneFly provides customers with the state-of-the-art backup and disaster recovery solution by integrating with Veeam. StoneFly provides Scale-out NAS cloud storage which only requires the customers to pay as they go. Customers only pay for the amount of storage they use which increases as they use more Scale-out storage.

Another need for StoneFly to provide this technology came forward with the issue of eDiscovery and Compliance. Organizations now seek to keep records for a much longer time to extract useful information from it. Cloud backup has resolved this issue with Azure allowing for archiving of data for up to 99 years.
